About Us
The Panida Theater operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We rely heavily on
community donations, grants, and fundraising to ensure our financial success.
The Panida Theater opened as a vaudeville and movie house in 1927. Its name reflected its
mission: to showcase great performers and performances for audiences of the PANhandle of
IDAho. Patrons marvel at the distinctive Spanish Mission style architecture and lush interior
furnishings—a unique structure in Sandpoint. In 2003, the Panida Theater Committee
purchased the adjacent building to offer smaller, black box entertainment. The Panida Theaters
are the cornerstone of cultural activities for the entire Sandpoint community.
