Occupational Therapist

PRIMARY DUTIES INCLUDE:

Implement standards of care for occupational therapy services provided to patients.

Evaluate functional status (muscle function, endurance, visual coordination, written and verbal communication skill, self care ability, and work capacity).

Evaluate home environment for hazards or barriers and identify equipment needs.

Assess and develop plan of care or treatment program to establish goals for improved function.

Teach new skills and retrain patient on familiar daily activities due to illness or injury.

Prepare and submit clinical progress summaries based on attainment of goals.

Train patient in use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices.

Maintain clinical records, notes, reports to physician and any changes in patient’s condition.

Maintain contact and communication with personnel involved in patients care.

Attend and contribute to in-service training, case conferences and other meetings as required to ensure comprehensive plans for care for patients.

Identify patient and family/caregiver needs for services as appropriate.

Work with family/caregiver regarding treatment of patient as needed.

Instruct, supervise and evaluate home health aide care as required as needed.

Participates in discharge planning for patient.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.

Registered with the National Registration Examination of American Occupational Therapy Association.

Minimum 2 years occupational therapy experience preferred.

Current Occupational Therapy license.

Maintain current CPR certification.

Must be a licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured.
