Host families are encouraged to apply now for the amazing opportunity of hosting a teenage student from abroad!  Sandpoint area families are needed for the 2024 fall semester as well as for the 2024-25 academic year. Families can be a single adult, couple, with or without children, even retired folks can host an exchange student!  As long as the parent is at least 10 years older than the student they host (25 years minimum), and can provide a bed, three meals, and a quiet place to study, hosting is totally doable! Imagine the fun of learning another culture and gaining another person as another daughter, son, brother or sister in your life/lives, sharing your little piece of America, visiting local and distant places together, attending high school games, dances, dance performances, musicals, fall, winter & spring sports, or whatever fun you envision! Teens are aged 15 to 18 years old, come from countries such as Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Belgium, Spain, Hungary, China, Thailand, Brazil, plus many more.  AYA, or Academic Year in America, is a non-profit organization, founded in 1981 and affiliated with the American Institute for Foreign Study.
